Very well written November 17, 2008 T. Christidou (Edinburgh, UK) A very well written book. Even though I'm not a law student I loved using this book as reference. Everything is very clearly explained.
exceptional July 14, 2008 angieB (UK) this book was a valuble resource. i would recommend this to anyone who is studying Criminology, however other resources were required as not all the theories were covered in this book.
So brilliant it's criminal! May 18, 2006 Ms. N. J. Hubbard (Billingham, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is a fundamental book on the subject of Criminology, Katherine Williams outlines nearly every question anyone could ask on the subject and produces a detailed answer. It asks questions like "Why do people become criminals?" and gives a educated answer that is analytical and looks at the answer from a sociological, psychological and theoretical point of view, also explaining why society acts the way it does to crime.
This is the fifth edition of the book, so the information in this copy is up to date, produces a comprehensive overview of criminology on the whole.
The book provides questions at the end of each chapter and references from which the author has taken her information, which also prove useful to students that want to look up other sources of information on that subject.
A must for any crim. student April 16, 2004 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
